Mass Loaded Vinyl Noise Barrier Material

Mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material is a flexible, mass loaded vinyl that resists the passage of sound waves and reduces the transmission of airborne noise.  Mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material is ideal for direct application to the noise source and/or to the housing covering the noise source.  Mass loaded vinyl is available in both reinforced and non-reinforced versions, in weight ranges from .5 lbs. per square foot up to 2 lbs. per square foot.

Mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material won’t shrink, rot or cause metal corrosion and also features a strong resistance to adverse environmental conditions, oils, weak acids and alkalis.  Mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material can be combined with acoustical foams, mineral fiber, glass fiber and ceramic fiber insulation to provide lightweight, efficient composites with high transmission losses over a broad frequency range.  ENC mass loaded noise barrier material is available in reinforced or non-reinforced versions.

In addition, the reduction of airborne noise and the high density properties exhibited by mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material are attained without the use of hazardous lead or heavy metals.  Basic installation instructions are available upon request.

Clear Acoustical Vinyl 

ENC clear acoustical vinyl is designed for applications where visual access and light are needed.  It can be hung like a curtain between worker positions and noise-making equipment, or it can be incorporated into other enclosures as a door or window.  Clear barrier is also ideal for assembly line applications, to isolate noisy machinery underneath a production line, while allowing visual access to the machinery.

• Temporary construction noise control window treatment
• As skirting around open machinery
• In open manufacturing facilities to enclose loud machinery
• On assembly or production lines
• Between worker positions and noisy equipment

Mass Loaded Noise Barrier Material with Foam

ENC mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material with foam is a flexible, non-reinforced mass loaded vinyl combined with a 1/4", 1/2" or 1" open-cell urethane and other foams.  The open-cell design of the foam readily accepts and dissipates sound waves, insuring maximum acoustical absorption.  This foam facing also acts as a decoupler, breaking and separating vibrations between the two materials.  ENC mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material with foam won’t shrink, rot or cause metal corrosion and also features a strong resistance to adverse environmental conditions.

ENC mass loaded vinyl noise barrier material with foam provides the following, when applied directly to solid objects:

1. Sound vibration isolation in the barrier (sound/vibration decoupler).
2. Easier gluing/adhering.
